Below is the first 20 or so pages of the novel, enjoy!!
Part 1
Tarra and Chandral looked at each other and cringed. Their armoured
suits immediately activated their gloves, head covering and face shield. The
sisters’ bodies shook in a shared shiver of terror as they looked back into the
dungeon entrance.
Cobwebs covered
everything in sight…and the webs weren’t just very fine threads, they were as
thick as a piece of 20 ply knitting wool…
Tarra called Ember
to the surface and asked the Elemental to clear the way for them.
Ember whooped with
excitement and grew to two feet tall before she summersaulted off Tarra’s
shoulder and into the dungeon.
Chandral sent Aria
in to help and the two Elementals vanished into the dark, dreary dungeon. Chandral
looked at her wives through her face shield as she pushed at the web of the white
gloves covering her hands. She nodded as she drew her mini staff. “Ok, I’m
ready.”
If the other team
members hadn’t activated their suits for the exact same protection, they
would’ve been amused at the twins’ paranoia.
Tarra took a deep
breath and forced her fear into a far corner of her mind. Her fear chucked a
hissy fit and demanded to be freed but she ignored it and determinedly walked
into the cavern. The Elementals had done a great job and the dark haired Queen
could see the singed webs where Ember and Aria had been. She hissed out a
cleansing breath and forced her feet to keep moving forward. The cavern was a
large room with one side made into a half dozen smaller rooms and large boulders
were scattered across the floor.
Tarra’s warrior
sense tingled and she motioned those behind her to be prepared. She raised her
sword slightly and turned slightly sideways to face the large rock in front of
her. “AAAhhh!!” She yelped as a sticky blob attached itself to her chest. The
stand of web connected to the 'blob' on her chest led to behind the boulder and
Tarra used her sword to cut the strand. Barely. “This stuff’s bloody strong! The
sword’s getting stuck in it!” Tarra warned her family.
Tarra ditched the
idea of her usual weapon and flipped a fireball around the boulder. The web
disappeared. Unfortunately, the fire also caused a human shaped Arachne to charge
at the Guardian. Tarra's mouth flew open in shock as the beast became visible…
it had two human legs and six arms. The human head was quite pretty, until she
opened her mouth to expose huge fangs… oozing a green liquid. “Well that’s
attractive!!” Tarra cringed as she threw a fireball at the beast.
The Arachne shook
off the heat as she sneered at the Queen. The spider woman's black eyes fired
hate at the intruders.
Tarra watched as the
beast shook off a lightning bolt from Chandral and as she looked down at her
chest Tarra watched a strand of web started to circle her body. She snapped out
of her bemused daze and used her sword to snap the strands before they could
trap her arms to her sides. Tarra lowered her head and let the rage (from being
afraid) build until it felt like she was going to erupt with molten anger. Tarra’s
eyes drilled into the Arachne’s as she bellowed and charged the beast. Her
sword flashed as she sliced and diced at the beast. Her blade didn’t hurt the abnormal
being but the ferocity of the Guardian’s attack pushed the supernatural beast back
further and further. Tarra continued to growl and roar as she swung her sword
at the spider-woman’s head.
The beast’s eyes and
mouth displayed stunned astonishment as its head was separated from its body
and exploded in a ball of ashes.
After her initial
shock, Tarra yelled to her team “Behead them!!”
The spider beasts
attacked in force… dozens of male and female Arachne leapt at the REDS, trying
to cocoon them with ultra-strong web strands.
Lili pushed at the
male beast trying to sink his fangs into her neck, thankful her suit had already
stopped his previous two attempts. The blonde Guardian didn’t feel guilty as
she plunged her dagger into his chest, causing him to hesitate momentarily and
step slightly away from her. Lili used his distraction to her advantage and swung
her Phoenix sword with all her might, lopping off the Arachne’s head. Before
she could take a relieved breath, she belly flopped onto the ground, rolled
sideways and flicked her weapon back to where she’d been standing.
The Arachne attempting
to attack Lili from behind fell to the floor, legless. The female beast ignored
the fact her legs were now stumps and used her arms to stand and ‘walk’ toward
Lili. The beast screamed shrilly before her head rolled off her neck and
bounced several times before disintegrating.
Ember and Aria
suddenly appeared … with several Arachne in hot pursuit. The small Elementals
darted past Tashan then turned to watch as the blonde guardian slashed her
sword, pirouetted and hacked again. Four heads hit the floor then four bodies
turned to ash. The Elementals cheered and whooped in gratitude and Tashan
smiled reflexively at the beautiful little beings. Ember grabbed Aria’s hand,
waved to Tashan then darted off to look for more victims.
Tashan smiled as she
turned, grabbed the hand reaching for her, twisted the limb, dodged three or
four more like it then pulled her sword across the being’s throat. Tash frowned
slightly as her opponent’s head sat on its neck, refusing to fall. She thumped
it… it tilted, hung by several strands of muscle then broke loose and
disintegrated in a puff of ash. She grimaced and sighed. “Thank the Mother I’m
not breathing in all that dust!!”
Chandral was in the
thick of the fight and was surprised when her staff underwent a sudden change.
Several feet in the middle (where her hands were positioned) stayed wooden,
while both ends became short blades (similar to a sword). Therefore all her
skills as with the staff stayed relevant but her weapon became even more
deadly. The Guardian blocked attacks from several Arachne's sets of hands then
sliced them off at the elbow. While the beasts were momentarily stunned, she
lopped off their heads. Chandral’s only thought was ‘thank the Mother they don’t look like real spiders!’ as she
destroyed her opponents. She looked around the room counting team mate heads, only
to find her sister and wives doing the same thing.
“Chuckie!! Where are
you??” Lili bellowed as the women realised the man was missing.
“I’m up here!!” was
the quiet reply.
The women looked up to
find Chuckie in a snug little cocoon, stuck to the surface of a large boulder. The
thick ‘bag’ ran from his toes to his shoulders and his arms were encased in the
tightly woven web.
Chuckie’s expression
oozed embarrassment, as did his deeply red face.
Tarra looked down to
where Ember and Aria had stopped their manic running around. She grinned at how
the Elementals had their heads tilted and were staring at Chuckie, as if
wondering what he was up to now. Tarra chuckled as she picked up the Elementals
and let them sit on her shoulders. “So you just gunna hang around all day or
come back to work?” she asked the Brownie.
Chuckie glared at
the woman he used to call ‘friend’ and groused at her. “I think I liked it
better when you didn’t talk much!”
Tarra laughed and
crossed her arms. “So when are you due to morph into a beautiful butterfly?”
Chuckie groaned and wildly
wriggled, trying to break free.
Tarra waggled her
eyebrows “You really should have worn that rainbow shirt of yours! You would
already have the colours then.”
Chuckie very
eloquently bellowed “AAAHHHH!!!”
Tarra snorted then
took pity on the man. “I’m gunna throw fireball at you, get ready.” She looked
at her hand then her sister. “Hey Chandral! Why don’t you hit him?”
Chandral’s evil
smile of acceptance made her sister return the same.
Chuckie yelled “You
aren’t supposed to enjoy it!!” The Brownie was ecstatic his face shield, gloves
and head cover were still activated because Chandral didn’t hesitate, she just
hit him with her best shot. The fire engulfed the Brownie for several seconds
then he landed on his feet… In just his skin tight, white armoured suit. He
stood with his hands over his crotch and glared daggers at the sisters. He
smiled charmingly at Lili as she handed him a pair of pants and a shirt. “Thank
you Your Majesty.”
“You’d make a very
stunning butterfly, Chuckie.” Lili assured him as she put her hand on his
shoulder then turned to give him some privacy.
Tarra didn’t give
him privacy. She just started yelling at him. “Why didn’t you ask one of us to
help you?”
Chuckie yelled back
“You were busy killing the bloody things and I wasn’t in any real danger.”
Tarra stood toe to
toe with the Brownie, drilled her eyes into his and proceeded to poke his
chest. “Danger or not, next time you tell someone you need help!! I didn’t even
see you go missing!”
Chuckie pulled the
Queen into a hug and patted her back. “I’m sorry I worried you. I’ll scream
like a banshee next time… Ok?”
Tarra returned the
hug then smacked his shoulder “You’d better or I’ll ban you from helping us!”
She stormed away from him, seemingly in a huff but really upset because she’d
let her fears keep her from seeing her friend was in trouble.
“Tarra!” Chuckie
yelled after her and as she turned to look at him and he shouted “You fight
like a girl!”
Tarra snorted her
amusement then fired back “You wish
you could fight like a girl!”
Chuckie was about to
be insulted then ran after her “Hey, I do!! Wanna do some sparring and teach me
some new moves?”
Tashan, Lili and
Chandral chuckled as they watched the pair (plus Ember and Aria) move toward
the remaining doors. Chandral found a wife on each side of her and the blondes eagerly
drooled over her new weapon.
“What made you use
that and what is it?” Tashan took the modified staff and checked it thoroughly
before handing it to Lili so she could do the same.
Chandral shrugged as
she walked. “I don’t know really. I was using my staff and thinking how much
I’d like to be able to slice off the beasties’ heads like with my sword. Then
it just happened.”
Lili blessed the
staff and handed it back to her appreciative wife. “Do you mind if I give one
like it a go later?”
“Lil you can borrow
mine if you want to.” Chandral changed the weapon back to its original form
then sheathed her mini staff. She then put her arms around the waists of Tashan
and Lili. “I love watching you two work, you’re both so sexy when you’re all
fired up!” Chandral thought for a split second then corrected her thought.
“Actually, you’re both just bloody sexy all the time!!” That scored her a kiss
on both cheeks and a promise for further kisses when they returned home.
“Excellent!! Hurry up ladies! We have work to do.” Chandral charged ahead of
the blondes, with a huge smile on her face.
Tashan took Lili’s
hand and kissed her lips. “Cherish you… Don’t you just love Chan’s enthusiasm?”
“Yep... almost as
much as I love watching her walk away!!” Lili lustily agreed.
Both women sighed
contentedly as they ogled their wife as she swaggered to her sister and
Chuckie.
Tarra didn’t have to
‘listen’ to her sister’s mind to know what she was thinking so she just smiled
at the woman. She waited until the blondes joined them then got Chuckie to
repeat what he knew about Arachne.
Chuckie happily shared
his knowledge of the beasts. “Well, as you saw they are creatures who
have abilities similar to those of spiders. They have super strong webs and can
usually wrap and incapacitate their victims with ease. Their bite will kill you
in a matter of seconds and if that’s not bad enough, I’ve heard if it doesn’t
kill you it’ll change you into one of them. That’s how they breed. I wasn’t
aware of how to kill one but beheading seems to work well enough.”
Tarra thanked the Brownie then motioned she was ready to
open the first door. The room contained large lengths of thin tree trunks with
huge ‘reels’ of what appeared to be arachne web coiled around them.
Chuckie stayed at the door and stood watch.
The Queens walked to the nearest spindle and reverently put
their finger on a piece of web. “This has got to come in useful for something!”
Lili muttered as her mind flicked through possible uses for the material.
The Guardians frantically tried to remove their digits from
the web as their bracers shook and glowed. The women settled as they realised
they weren’t able to pull free and pain wasn’t involved. The bracers finally
stopped whatever it was they were doing and the women’s fingers disengaged.
Tashan willed the web from her bracer to hit the wall
closest to her and all the women gathered around to check it out. “It looks
like the arachne web. It’s so much wider and stronger looking than it used to
be.” Tashan observed.
Chandral stood up straight and commented “Cool, our bracers
must have realised this stuff was of higher quality and upgraded itself. It
must be like a ‘Web Version 2’.”
The Queens chuckled as they transported the spindles to the
ARC for storage then returned to clear the rest of the rooms.
The remaining small caverns contained chests with a few
coins, jewels (not frog poo) and weapons.
Tashan cleared the last doorway and pulled the door open.
The entire room ice with white and gloriously intricate
designs covering every inch of available space.
A small elf like creature was asleep (or dead) in the
corner, leaning against what appeared to be a series of three spheres stacked
on top of each other. The largest ball was on the bottom and smallest on top. Two
sticks stuck out from the sides of the centre sphere, the smallest ball had a
hat sitting on top and between the two smaller balls a long piece of material
was tied around like a scarf. “Is that supposed to be a person?” Lili asked.
The elf jumped up and stared at the intruders.
Chandral smiled at him and said gently “Hello, I’m
Chandral.” She quickly introduced the rest of the team and gave the elf a
moment to catch his breath. “Who’s your friend?” She nodded to the ice person
in the corner.
“I call him Iceon…” The elf shrugged and kept talking “I got
lonely so I made him. I’m a great talker and he’s a very good listener! We’re
the best of friends!” The elf laughed as he took a few steps toward the chuckling
women and held out his hand “My name’s Frost 14 but my friends call me Jackie.
I’d be honoured if you would too.”
Lili shook his hand and said “It’s a pleasure to meet you
Jackie. You can head home now. Do you want to take Iceon with you?”
Jackie shook Chandral’s then Tarra’s hands as he answered
Lili. “I think I will. I feel bad just thinking about leaving him here.” Jackie
took Tashan’s hand and held it. His head tilted to one side as he stared into
her eyes. “You’re a water Elemental?” At Tash's nod he looked at her hand. “Would
you mind if I give you my blessing? As long as you can find water you will be
able to freeze it. Most beings are partially made of water.”
Tashan was stunned as she smiled and nodded at the little
Mystic.
Jackie took her other hand as well and kissed the back of
Tashan’s palm as he muttered “May you live long and appreciate the awesome
power that is Ice.”
Tashan’s body glowed
and small icicles hung from her clothes. As the glow lessened, the icicles
melted.
The blonde Guardian shook as cold shivers ran down her spine
and around her body. She looked at Jackie and lowered herself onto one knee.
“Thank you Jackie, I now know of the power you’ve given me and I swear to value
your gift for the rest of my life.”
Jackie whooped with glee as he ran to Iceon and waved his
hand over the iceman. Jackie stamped around impatiently as Iceon started to
grow legs, hands and fingers and crackle as he started to move.
The rest of the spectators watched in admiration as the
iceman grew a face and opened his eyes.
“Jackie?” Iceon spoke as he stared at the elf.
The elf hugged the formerly lifeless iceman and sighed “I
told you I’d make you real when I got free.”
Iceon returned the loving hug and looked at the Guardians.
“Thank you for setting us both free.”
The Guardians chuckled as they welcomed Iceon and Tashan
waved the pair toward the door. “Come on fellas let’s get out of this place.”
Jackie and Iceon walked arm in arm as they followed the REDS
outside.
The Guardians smirked as they heard Jackie telling Iceon
“You do realise most of what I told you was therapeutic and as such you can’t
repeat it?”
Iceon patted Jackie’s hand and replied “Yes little elf, I do
realise that. Do you realise my
remuneration for your therapy is extremely high? You will be paying me for many
years to come.”
“Is that right?” Jackie huffed good naturedly. “And what
sort of payment are you expecting?”
Iceon grunted “Well, bringing me to life was a fantastic
down payment but the next instalment would include you having to listen to me
talking, nonstop, for several years.”
Jackie moaned “But I can’t go that long without talking!!
How about one year then you let me talk for a few days then we can go again?”
“Deal!” Iceon exclaimed.
“Iceon, Iceon, Iceon!!!” Tarra admonished the former ice-ball.
“Never ever agree to the first round offer…You can do so much better than that...”
Iceon hesitantly reneged on his acceptance and listened
intently to the woman acting on his behalf.
Jackie’s eyes were wide as he listened to the new and very
extensive list of demands. Most of which were entirely reasonable and of
agreeable to him. But that wasn’t the point! He glared at Tarra and hissed
“You’re ruthless!”
Tarra belly laughed as she escorted the Mystics out the door
“Jackie you have no idea just how ruthless I can be!! This was me being nice!!
And thanks for the complement.”
The other Guardians laughed along with Iceon as they saw the
disbelieving look on Jackie's face.
****
After debriefing and some lunch, the Queens returned home to
Georstrie and met up with their daughters and Bellan. After the mandatory hugs
and kisses the girls played quietly as their mothers talked to the Brownie.
Lili advised Bellan “We’re going to spend a few hours with
the Yellan, would you like to come meet them?”
Bellan jumped at the offer and the women gathered the Princesses
and disappeared.
The temporary accommodation the Yellan occupied was clean,
well ordered and adapted to their way of living with nature. The villagers
cheered when they spotted the Royal contingent and the girls quickly ran off
with their Yellan friends.
Queen B’anya bellowed her welcome and gently swatted the
shoulders of her friends. When B'anya was introduced to Bellan, the pair stared
into each other’s eyes and smiled shyly. The two Queens exchanged greetings,
not seeing the delighted looks the Guardians were giving them.
Tashan cared for the Yellan Queen and instantly picked up on
her less exuberant mood. “B’anya, is there anything wrong? You don’t seem to be
your usual cheerful self.”
“Aye Tashan, I am a little upset. My wife left me… She, my hangers-on,
all the adult males and several females went with them to start their own village
several miles from here... We still have most of the male children with us but
the rest of my people are now female. All the best warriors and hunters stayed
with me and I worry the others will perish without our help.”
Lili put her hand on B’anya’s shoulder, showing her support
of the woman’s predicament. “Do the hangers-on have skills or resources you can
trade for food?”
B’anya went into
deep thought and eventually said “They are excellent leather workers and some
make good quality cloth. You are correct my friend!! We can support them
without making them feel as useless as they innately are!”
The Guardians
laughed at the Yellan’s bluntness and Tarra shook her head as the new Yellan
culture hit her “Wow, a race of female warriors and hunters!! Sounds ideal to
me!!”
Lili snorted her
disbelief as she looked at her wife. “And what happens if they all cycle at the
same time?”
“Holy Mother!! An
invincible army – once a month! You’d just have to time the attacks to coincide
with the mood swings!” Tarra drooled as she retreated into her ‘battle warrior’
happy land.
“Cycle?” B’anya
looked at Chandral and Tashan for clarification. As the pair explained the
human birthing process B’anya cringed and roared. “Holy Mother!! You have to go
through that? Monthly??” She went on to explain how the Yellan reproduced. “We
enjoy sex and have very healthy libidos…” B’anya met Bellan’s eyes and
smiled openly. “But we ovulate for one week every ten years. In order to
conceive, our children have to be very well planned, that is why we cherish
each and every one of the little buggers.” B’anya’s eyes were drawn to the
youngsters running wild not far from them.
“Do you have any
children?” Bellan asked the Yellan.
B’anya smiled
distantly as she nodded. “My daughters are now with our God. They were killed
when the mountain hit us. We celebrated their lives but it still hurts to know
I will never know if they are happy and together.”
“Oh B’anya! I’m
so sorry to hear of your loss!!” Lili took her friend’s hand and gently pulled
her into a comforting hug. “You've done all you can to help our people and all
the time you've been grieving for your babies?”
B’anya pulled
from the hug and shrugged. “Helping you took my mind off my girls.”
Tarra whispered
to the wind and asked Kaylan and Lixa a question. The Angels promptly replied
and Tarra thanked them for their help. “Bellan?” Tarra quietly asked the
Brownie “Can you please keep an eye on the kids, we won't be gone long?”
Bellan nodded and
waved her hand. She had a very good idea what Tarra was planning and
wholeheartedly welcomed the idea. “Don’t worry about the children, they'll be
fine.”
Tarra nodded and
thanked the Brownie. She then smacked her Yellan friend on the shoulder and
looked her in the eye. “B’anya how would you like time with your girls?” The
five women looked around and only four recognised the Genie Great Hall.
The Yellan’s
astounded face dropped into pure adoration as three small Yellan girls materialised
next to Tarra. The girls were obviously triplets and they screamed as they saw
their mother. The Yellan hugged and kissed as they all talked at once. “Mumma
we get to see God all the time. She lets us call her Dianna.” One child told
her mum.
Her sister added “We
play with little Angels called Cherubs, they’re just babies but they have wings and we have so much fun with them. They
tell us about games they play with dragons!! Real dragons, mumma!! They’re called Ash, Garriil, Silvana and Terran.”
The third sister
contributed “We live with all our family who passed before us! Gramma tells us
all about you when you were little!” The children all hugged and kissed
B’anya’s cheeks. “You were very naughty!!” the girls giggled.
B’anya looked up
as a golden skinned warrior appeared before her. Her daughters turned to see
who had distracted their mother and squealed “Dianna! Look this is our mum!”
Dianna held out
her hand to the still kneeling B’anya and smiled divinely. “B’anya it’s lovely
to finally meet you in person. I see you know my Regents.”
The Yellan was
gob-smacked. “You are God?” Dianna nodded. “Thank you for spending time with my
girls and for letting me be with them.” B’anya kissed Dianna’s hand before
releasing it and standing. She held all three daughters in her arms and
snuggled into their hugs. “Regents?”
Dianna motioned
for the Guardians to approach her, kissed all their cheeks then pulled Lili and
Tashan into her sides. “These four are my Right Hands. Tarra is the one who
granted you time with your daughters. She cheated and brought you here where
time stands still… but I have reviewed your life so far and I’m impressed
enough to grant you this time with your daughters.”
B’anya let the
tears run freely down her face and as she was too emotional to speak, the
fierce warrior graciously nodded her thanks to Dianna.
Dianna released
her Warriors, took the Yellan Queen’s face in her hands, kissed her brow and
blessed her. “You are a credit to your people. Live long and happy until you
come to me forever. I love you B’anya.” Dianna looked at the small faces of the
girls and grinned at them. “You three have fun with your mum. When you get home
I have a game to teach you and the other children. It’s called beach bat-on-ball
and my great granddaughters love it.” Dianna laughed as the girls cheered. She
bid her Regents goodbye then disappeared.
B’anya looked at
the four women and grinned. “Thank you, my friends. But what is a Genie Great
Hall?”
Tarra smiled her best
feral look at the Yellan and waggled her eyebrows. “This is where you can spend
as much time with your girls as you want and when we go back it’ll be the same
second we left. That door over there leads to a set of rooms where my wives,
sister and I will be waiting for you. We have some serious ‘women’s business’
to attend to. Enjoy yourself and knock on the door when you’re ready to go.
Take all the time you want, because there's no rush to get home. Just wish for
refreshment, toys etc and they’ll appear.” Tarra smiled at the Yellan woman and
children then took her blonde wives hands and pulled them toward their little
love nest. “If Genie show up, just tell them you’re with us and they’ll throw
the kids a party.” Tarra waved goodbye to the Yellan before she closed the door
and locked it.
Tashan crossed
her arms and looked at Tarra “Secret women’s business? I’ve never heard it
called that before.”
Lili crossed her
arms and looked at Tarra “Just what makes you think we’ll participate in this ‘secret women’s business’?"
Tarra snorted and
used her eyes to challenge her wives. “How long do you two think you’ll hold
out when Chandral gets all bossy like at Hunter’s wedding?”
The blondes each sucked
in a deep breath and slowly turned to face Chandral.
Chandral freaked
out as she saw the undisguised lust in her wives eyes. She took a breath and
listened to Tarra’s voice in her mind, calming her. Her lips turned into a
sneer and she took on her Guardian confidence and aura. “Strip and come to me.”
The blondes
almost passed out from shock and their hormonal response!
Tarra leaned
against the door as she watched her quiet sister take control. “I hope this
room’s sound proof!” she sighed as she enjoyed the view of her wives naked. “And
I definitely hope B’anya takes her own sweet time!”
****
An indefinable
amount of time later Lili looked past the bubbles in the tub and looked at her
wives. “How long do you think we’ve been in here?”
The women
shrugged and Tashan asked “Why, Love? Do you want to go home?” She pushed
across the marble, pool sized tub and locked her lips on Lili’s. Both women
were breathing heavily as they pulled apart.
Lili shivered as
she looked into Tashan’s emerald, love filled eyes and slowly drowned in them.
She huskily asked “What was your question?”
Tashan kept her
eyes locked on Lili’s as she slowly sank under the water and never surfaced.
“Sweet Mother,
Fate and Dianna!!” Lili groaned as she threw back her head and tried to
remember to breathe.
The twins watched
as Lili was slowly driven into a squirming mess of hormones.
“I love being
Queen of the Genie!” Chandral sighed as her own hormones kicked into gear …
again.
Tarra groaned as
she watched Lili wriggling “Oh yeah!! I know I’m going to be nice to Jeni and
Paige for the rest of my life!!”
The twin sisters
moved to sit on either side of Lili to ensure the writhing woman kept her head
above water and didn’t smash her skull on the side of the tub.
An eternity later
Lili screamed then passed out. The twins smirked as they supported their wife.
Chandral’s face
suddenly glazed over and she forgot about Lili as she was shown to the same
seat on the runaway train.
Tarra snorted as
she took the unconscious Lili in her arms, stood and walked up the steps to the
double king sized bed. By the time she arrived at the bed, both her and Lili
were dry thanks to some internal heat supplied by Tarra. She gently positioned
her wife on the mattress and made sure she could breathe correctly then went to
‘save’ her sister.
Soon Chandral was
tallied beside the still unconscious Lili.
Tarra looked back
to the tub where a hand was breaking the surface of the water. The fingers made
a ‘come here’ motion and Tarra shook
her head as her smile grew wider. As she climbed back into the water she prayed
to the Mother that Hunter's little NMRUs (Nano Medical Repair Units) were still
working properly. She’d hate to permanently live with a cracked skull.
Tarra was soon
unconscious and lying on the bed beside her wife and sister.
Tashan looked at
her oblivious wives and the smug look on her face was priceless. “Yep, I love
being a water Elemental.” She climbed on the bed and snuggled into Tarra’s back
for a quick snooze.

The five Queens
eventually returned to where Bellan waited for them.
Bellan smiled at
the Yellan who grinned back. “Did you have fun with your girls?”
B’anya nodded and
asked, curious as to what the answer would be “How long were we gone?”
“No more than a few
seconds.” Bellan supplied the answer as she chuckled at the contented looks on
the Guardians’ faces. “Had a good time did you, Majesties?” All four guardians
blushed but the grin never left their lips. “Oh yeah, I thought so!”
“Don’t stir us
about it and I promise to take you for a visit the Hall.” Lili offered as a
bribe.
The Brownie Queen
barely hesitated before asking “Stir you about what?”
Lili laughed as
she hugged Bellan and kissed her cheek. “Thank you.”
B’anya looked at
the Guardians and lowered her body to rest on one knee. “Guardians of the
Mother and Regents of Dianna, I cannot thank you enough for giving me a
lifetime of memories with my babies. I humbly pledge my eternal allegiance to
you and your family.”
Tarra smiled at
the proud warrior and Queen and told her to stand. “B’anya you are so welcome.
I thank you for your allegiance and gratefully accept your friendship and
trust.” The women gruffly hugged and took the other’s hand in a warrior’s
handshake.
B’anya gratefully
shook the hands of Lili and Tashan and as she took Chandral’s she asked “The
bladed staff you used today, Majesty. Would you consider letting me try it?”
Chandral put her
arm around B’anya’s shoulder and guided her toward the practice field. “Well,
now my friend… I won’t consider letting you use mine but I will give you one of
your own if you agree to spar with me.
B’anya’s face lit
up like a nudist finding a bonfire in the middle of winter.
****
After several
hours Chandral and B’anya were still swapping blows with their new toys. As
they sparred, they talked about anything that came to mind. “So how are you
guys finding living in Atlantis? Do you need anything?” Chandral enquired as
she flicked the left side blade at B’anya’s stomach.
B’anya blocked
the diversionary blow and prepared herself for the real attack she anticipated.
It never came. B’anya dropped her guard as Chandral’s face lit up and she
pointed behind the Yellan.
“Oooohhhhh look
at that!” Chandral gushed and as B’anya moved to look behind her, Chandral
placed the blade of her staff on the Yellan’s throat. “Tarra’s Life Lesson (TLL)
number 1 – never trust anyone playing near you with a sharp object!”
B’anya burst into
raucous bouts of laughter as she slapped Chandral’s shoulder. “Well played my
friend. I must remember TLL number 1!!”
The pair took a
seat on a nearby log and watched the other women going through their paces.
B’anya chuckled
as Tashan and Tarra picked Lili up and dumped her on the ground. B'anya laughed
even louder as the attackers were suddenly grabbed by several vines that
appeared out of nowhere and pulled them off the blonde gnome. “To answer your
question, we love our new home! My people are getting used to the colours and
we feel stronger here. We do miss the Vlock because its flesh was a staple in
our diet but we are adapting to cooking our food.”
Chandral called a
‘time out’ for the roughhousing between her sister and wives and called them to
her. “Do we have a spare linked set of travel doors so the Yellan can hunt the
Vlock?”
Hunter had advised
the Queens the Vlock wouldn't adapt well to Earth as they evolved very slowly
and would become extinct before they could change enough to thrive in their new
surroundings.
Tarra thought for a moment then nodded “Yep,
we found some more plus we still had the ones mother used to visit Gardenya so
Patience could see her home and friends.” Tarra kissed Tashan then said to
Lili. “Come on Queen Gnome, you can help me.” The two Queens disappeared.
Tashan sat in
Chandral’s lap and nibbled her cheek. “Love you.” She whispered.
Chandral smiled
and returned the sentiment.
B’anya rolled her
eyes and turned her head to watch Bellan playing with the children. “Majesties,
is Bellan spoken for?”
Tashan grinned as
she answered “Well we thought she was but I’ve never see her and Blayden even
holding hands or kissing… if anything they act more like brother and sister
than lovers.”
Chandral nodded her
agreement with Tashan's opinion and decided to be upfront with the Brownie. She
yelled “Hey Bellan, can we talk to you please?” Chandral snickered at her wife
and admitted “I love being Yellan.”
Tashan shook her
head and laughed “No kidding!!”
Chandral waited
for arrive and Bellan sit before asking her “What’s the go with you and
Blayden? Are you a couple?”
Bellan rolled her
eyes as she crossed her feet and got comfortable. “No. I want to settle down
and have kids and he’s not ready. I doubt he ever will be, he likes wandering
too much to stay in one place long. We do love each other and we’re great
friends but we’d be miserable together.”
B’anya’s mood
suddenly got even better! She gently pushed Bellan’s shoulder with her own.
“The Queens have gone to get a doorway to link this home with our old one….
Chandral!! How will we explain our new home if we can still access the old
one?”
Chandral sighed.
“Bugger!!” and mentally asked Tarra to not bring the door back to the village. She
smiled as Tarra said not to worry because she and Lili would fix things on the
Yellan end before returning. “Tarra’s going to work it out.” She informed the
other two people with her.
“Excellent!”
B’anya said as she returned to her original spiel to Bellan. “As I was saying,
the Queens are giving us access to our old hunting ground. I hear you are a
warrior of much skill. Would you like to join us in our first hunt?”
Bellan looked
into B’anya’s eyes and smiled “I would love to. Thank you.” She motioned to
Chandral’s bladed staff. “Do you mind if I have one of those to try?”
Chandral pulled Tashan
closer, pushed her almost in half, reached into her backpack and removed a
weapon for the Brownie. “Not a problem.” Chandral closed the pack, pulled
Tashan back into a sitting position then kissed her unimpressed wife.
Bellan eyeballed
the Yellan Queen and used her head to motion toward the training field. “Care
to go a few rounds with me?”
B’anya sneered at
Bellan and growled “I will defeat you … I now know TLL number 1!!”
Bellan, Tashan
and Chandral laughed and Chandral said “Just remember TLL number 2 - Never kill
a friend!”
The Yellan and
Brownie agreed that was a very good rule and good naturedly ribbed each other
as they warmed up then flew into more and more aggressive moves.
The Guardians
cringed as Bellan sliced B’anya’s upper arm and blood started to run down the
Yellan’s arm.
“Good move,
Bellan!!” B’anya congratulated the Brownie as she dove at the woman with
several high speed parries and thrusts that resulted in a cut to Bellan's arm.
By the time Tarra
and Lili returned both B’anya and Bellan were bleeding in several places and
covered in blood.
Chandral and
Tashan looked at their fellow Guardians and laughed “Just as well they know they're
friends, I shudder to think what they'd
look like if they didn’t!”
The combatants
ceased their game and moved to find out how Tarra fixed the old home issue.
Chandral pulled
her mini staff and secured a flask of clean water. She demanded to be allowed
to clean and heal the women’s wounds before Tarra was allowed to answer their
questions. When Chan was happy with the state of her patients, she nodded to
her sister and let her talk.
“Lili wiped out
any sign of your old homes and changed the landscape of the entire surviving
piece of Yellan land. The doorway is in a forest with a small mountain so it
blends in well with the environment. What story do you want to tell your
people?”
B’anya looked
around to where the women of the large village were going about their daily
tasks. “I will tell them the Mother heard our prayers about our cultural need
to taste and hunt the Vlock. As she is so giving, the Mother found a small
piece of our land with surviving beasts on it. You have given us access to that
land so we may slowly adapt the Vlock to our new home and ensure our heritage
thrives and continues on for our children’s grandchildren.”
Lili gently
smacked the Yellan’s stomach “Sticking with the truth, good idea!”
Tarra asked
B’anya where she wanted the doorway then vanished. She reappeared moments later
with the arch.
B’anya pulled a
small, thin and spiral horn from her belt and blew into it. The noise was like
a massive roar! The entire village went silent then everyone ran to see what
the Queen had to tell them.
****
The Vlock were
huge beasts with massive heads and multi-pronged horns. Their shoulders were
easily eight feet high and twice the size of the rest of their bodies, just so
they could carry their huge heads and ornaments.
Bellan looked at
the beasts grazing nearby and turned her head to the tall, well-muscled woman
next to her. "If you have to hunt these beasts, it's no wonder the Yellan
are so physically well developed!"
B'anya smirked at
the Brownie and asked "Is that a compliment, Your Majesty?"
Bellan raised her
eyebrow and returned the grin. "You know it is, Majesty."
The flirting
Queens were interrupted by a runner stopping in front of them. "Everyone
is in position, my Queen." The tall warrior bowed her head respectfully to
B'anya.
B'anya returned
the nod and excused the woman so she could return to her position. The Yellan
Queen turned to Bellan and explained the proceedings to the Brownie. "As
you can see, we only hunt the young males so as to keep the species alive. We
have surrounded the beasts and only wait for the perfect moment to attack.
Normally I would lead the initial assault but today I give the honour to my
Commanders. Many novice hunters will make their first kills today. You and I
will follow the hunters to observe. The only way to cleanly kill these animals
is by driving something into their eye socket. Their horns protect their
weakness with lethal intent."
Bellan watched,
enthralled, as the warriors crept closer to the beasts. They used every piece
of cover available and kept downwind of their prey. Bellan could feel the
restrained power flowing from B'anya's body as the Yellan Queen closely
monitored the actions of her clan.
"Keep
down!" B'anya quietly ordered a young girl who was becoming too eager to
move. The girl was too far away to hear her Queen but when her commander told
her the same thing she nodded and settled somewhat.
"AAAAHHAHHAHHHRR!"
The noise was deafening.
The beasts
screamed and milled in fear, not sure of where to run.
Bellan jumped
slightly as the warriors screamed their attack and charged the confused gazers.
Several warriors
threw themselves at the heads of beasts, grabbing their horns and wrestling the
Vlock to the ground. The next wave of attackers buzzed to the heads of the
animals and drove their spears into the beast's eyes.
The Vlock didn't
take kindly to being slaughtered. The majestic animals shook their massive
heads, simultaneously trying to dislodge the women hanging onto them and skewer
the ones with the spears.
B'anya saw a young
girl hesitating to kill her beast and charged forward.
The Vlock managed
to move several steps, dragging the attacking women with him. He flicked his
horns at the frozen child and wondered why he didn’t feel his rack pierce her
flesh. His angry eyes glared at the woman suddenly standing before him and he
knew fear for the first time in his life.
B'anya positioned
her spear and drove it into the eye socket of the Vlock. "You died
valiantly, beast. May the Mother bless your soul and we thank you for your sacrifice."
The women hanging
from the antlers jumped clear of the falling beast and B'anya nodded to them as
she pulled her weapon free.
The Queen stared
into the girl's eyes. "Do you want to try again or leave?" It was not
the way of the Yellan to berate or belittle people if they hesitated to kill.
The initiates were given the option of staying and learning to control fear or leaving
and sticking to their resolution never to kill living beings. Either way the
child would be treated with respect and honour. B'anya smiled as she saw the
resolution in the child's eyes and motioned for her to follow. The pair found
another beast being restrained and the girl waited patiently before making her
first kill.
The new hunter
blessed the beast then looked around for her next one.
B'anya was right
behind her all the way.
As quickly as the
hunt started, it finished. The hunters had claimed a dozen beasts then allowed
the remainder of the terrified Vlock to leave.
From the far side
of the herd a beast larger than any other walked to stand between his
retreating group and B'anya. He stared into the eyes of the Yellan and shook
his head before turning and prancing after his kind.
B'anya's body shook
as shivers of excitement set her muscles quivering and she feraly grinned at
the retreating Vlock.
Bellan walked
cautiously to stand in front of the Yellan Queen. She knew better than to sneak
up on a hunter/warrior. "He was an extraordinary Vlock."
B'anya nodded and
laughed loudly. "That he is my Queen. He escaped from me on my first hunt.
He was only a yearling and since then he has managed to elude my hunters. That
large scar on his face is a gift from our first encounter. My gift from him
marks my stomach and will continue to do so for the rest of my life."
B'anya smiled as she stared into the Brownie's eyes. "Ours is a strange
relationship."
Bellan's smile
made her face glow even brighter. "Aren't they the best kind?"
B'anya roared
with mirth as she placed a casual arm around Bellan's shoulder and agreed with
her.
The Queens joined
the others and assisted with dressing the carcasses. The hunting party was
exuberantly loud in their victorious return to their clan.
****
That evening the Guardians, Bellan and B'anya were relaxing
around a small camp fire and the children were asleep in bedrolls close by.
"So Queen Bellan, what exactly is a Fairy Brownie?"
B'anya asked in a gentle, curious tone.
Bellan smiled serenely at the Yellan then the Guardians, who
appeared as keen to hear the answer as B'anya was. "Fairy have several
types but basically we are small beings with enhanced strength, teleportation
(move from one place to another quickly) ability, wings, magical ability,
telekinesis (moving things around with our mind), invisibility, immortality. We
all hate iron but only dark fairies cannot touch silver. We can drink alcohol
and it has no effect but if we drink cream it intoxicates us. If someone pours
salt in front of us we have to stop to count each grain of the condiment."
The women stared in horror at the fairy. "Every
grain?" Tashan clarified.
Bellan chuckled and nodded "Every grain."
Lili shook her head "Why?"
Bellan shook her head as well. "No idea! Nothing else
has that sort of impact on us but as soon as the salt spills, it draws us to it
like bees to honey."
"Do you have to have been drinking cream first?"
Tarra smirked.
The other Queens looked at Tarra then Bellan and burst into
uproarious laughter.
****
Tarranna and
Tashan stared into the eyes of their opponent, their concentration never
wavering even though the battle had been raging for over an hour.
The Guardians
knew one miniscule lapse in focus could result in a severe wound or death. They
knew Hunter would revive them but that really wasn’t the point.
The point was to
disarm and disable the opposition.
Simple.
But it wasn’t
really that simple if your opponent
was as skilled as you were.
The two Guardians
circled each other in the empty Irasian Dragonball field, their eyes linked and
their swords glowing as the weapons reflected the early sunlight.
Tarranna swung her sword at Tash’s head.
Tashan raised her weapon and held her adversary at bay. She
pushed with all her might and sent Tarra several steps backward.
Tarranna laughed and smiled her brightest, unrestrained
smile as she attacked Tashan with a vicious barrage of slashes and thrusts.
Tashan effortlessly dodged and parried Tarranna’s thrusts
and slashes and deftly threw in some ferocious moves of her own.
The two combatants struck at one another, the tips of their
swords moving so fast the blades looked invisible and a hissing sound filled
the air.
Tarranna stepped back, dove into a roll and struck at
Tashan’s legs.
Tashan flew over the top of Tarranna’s slashing sword,
landed on both feet, pirouetted and sent her sword screaming toward Tarranna’s
head as the woman stood.
Tarranna moved her head out of the path of the oncoming
sword and heard it ‘swoosh’ as it flew past her face. She smiled in pure
delight.
The adversaries stared at each other, each trying to
intimidate their way to victory.
Tashan attacked!
Their boots slid on the grass as the women tried to gain
traction while they parried back and forth and each warrior vied for the
optimum position for their weapons.
“Nice moves your Majesty!!” Tarra laughed in pure unadulterated
delight. “Pity you’re going to lose.”
“Not to you.” Tashan swung her sword at the dark haired
warrior’s knees, rolled to stand behind her wife and swiped at Tarra’s back.
Tarra jumped high over the sword, twisted in the air, landed
facing Tashan as she blocked the weapon targeting her back. The crossed swords
pushed together, the scraping steel make both women cringe as it hurt their
ears. “You’re so sexy when you’re sweaty!” Tarra smirked at the face so close
to hers.
Tashan ignored the burning muscles in her arms and pushed a
little harder. “Ah huh!.... So you’re not trying to distract me by telling me
that?”
Tarra snorted and grinned her smoothest smile. “Nah, if I
wanted to distract you I’d just start undressing.”
Tashan burst into laughter as she released her muscles,
causing the women to fall to the ground with their swords still locked
together. After she hit the ground, with Tarra on top of her, Tashan looked to
her side and grinned as she saw Tarra’s dagger posed to puncture her stomach.
Tarra looked at her side to see Tashan’s dagger ready to
skewer her.
The women laughed and Tashan offered “Wanna call it a draw?”
Tarra put her dagger and sword on the grass beside them and
watched as Tashan did the same. The dark haired Queen then slowly lowered her
lips to the blonde’s and tenderly kissed her senseless. The kiss quickly became
heated as the women's aroused bodies tried to take over.
Tarra abruptly rolled off her wife, grabbed her sword from
the ground and stood facing the noise loud enough to penetrate the need to
taste her wife. Tarra looked to where Tashan was beside her and the women both
slowly lowered their weapons.
Hundreds of spectators cheered and clapped the, totally
embarrassed, Queens.
The Brownie trio wolf whistled as they applauded the women.
After several minutes Robbie turned to the rest of the crowd and shooed them
away.
Chuckie walked closer to the women, smiling as they sheathed
their swords and daggers. “Holy Mother watching you two was breathtaking… You
are pure beauty in motion! I can see Min’s influence with some of your moves
but you’ve excelled even her.”
Tashan readily accepted Chuckie’s hug as she grunted her
rebuttal “We were practicing fighting with razor sharp swords! That is not
beautiful!”
Chuckie kissed Tash’s cheek as he pulled away from the hug.
“My sweet warriors, you make watching sword play an exquisitely divine
experience. It was like watching the most elegant and talented dancers move in
a story of love, passion and hope.”
Robbie and Willie greeted the Queens then agreed with
Chuckie’s verbose and colourful description of their training session.
Tarra raised her eye brows, looked at Tashan who was doing
the same then shook her head and rebuffed the men. “We were trying to cut off
each other’s heads! There is nothing good about that.” She saw the men were
going to keep on being spellbound so she held up her hand in a ‘stop’ motion
and said. “We’re heading home to get ready for work. See you in the meeting
room.”
Robbie jumped in before the women could disappear. “Tarra,
Tash!! Before you leave, do we have permission to show this training session on
FNN?”
Tarra shrugged and Tashan replied “I don’t see why not. Just
cut out the kissing bit!!”
Willie protested the loudest “But that was the part that
sealed the built up passion and told of your undying love. Without that you
were just fighting! You wouldn’t ask a bard to leave out the first kiss in a
story would you?”
Tashan hadn’t stopped shaking her head in disbelief, the
speed of the shake just increased with her level of incredulity. “You aren’t
kidding are you?”
The Brownies resolutely shook their heads.
Tashan looked at Tarra, who shrugged, so Tashan said “Ok
fine, but cut the bit where we jumped up ready to attack the noise that scared
the stuffing out of us!”
The Brownies laughed till they dropped to the grass, their
legs too weak to hold them up. The thought of the two Guardians, scared!! How
funny was that? “Thank you.” The trio replied as one and the women vanished,
still shaking their heads.
Robbie, Willie and Chuckie smiled as they high fived each
other. “This is going to be fantastic!” Robbie sighed. “All we need to do is
get some footage of the other two. Then maybe Lili and Tash together.”
Willie held his chin
with the fingertips of his left hand, his right elbow across his stomach and
right hand supporting his left elbow. “What if we asked for a training session
with all of them together?” Willie grinned as he saw his fellow Brownies
nodding their approval of his idea. “Nerani’s taking the girls' tomorrow
afternoon we can ask to do it then.”
The men continued their discussion for several minutes then
returned to their home under Georstrie castle to get ready for work.
****
The REDS team carefully made their way through the dark
tunnel leading to the next chamber of their latest dungeon. The resistance, so
far, had been skeletons and a few giant rats. The team weren't sure if they
should be pleased with that fact or worrying about what may be ahead.
They decided to be pleased.
Tarra and Willie came to a door and waited for the team to
position themselves behind them.
Willie checked for traps then Tarra opened the door.
A massive orc lumbered toward the team!
Tashan didn't hesitate or think, she threw up her hand and
the beast started to turn white, with icicles hanging from its fingers and
nose. After several seconds, the orc was frozen solid.
Seven more beasts pushed their way toward the team, several
were frozen, electrocuted (by Chandral) and fire-balled (by Tarra).
Lili tilted her head as she eyeballed the frozen orcs. She
raised her hand and the nearest orcsicle started to vibrate. The vibration
increased in intensity until the beast shattered into a million shards of ice.
The other frozen beasts soon joined the first on the floor.
Willie looked at the Gardenyan Queens and nodded his
approval. "Nice! You lot are definitely getting better with controlling
your Elemental bits."
The Queens smiled at the Brownie and Lili chuckled
disparagingly. "I thought I'd never get the hang of it! Poor mum was
pulling her hair out trying to show me what to do."
Tashan snorted at her wife. "At least you didn't send
your mum into hysterics... Like when my mother asked me to make a blizzard and I
created a block of ice … an inch square! That was not my best training moment!"
"I was impressed when you froze Heaben's boots to the
floor." Tarra shrugged and smirked at her stunned wives and sister.
"He'd been stirring me, it served him right." Tarra walked away
chuckling as she recalled the incident. She adeptly inspected the rest of the
room then made her way to the next door.
The rest of the team finished their laughter as they helped
clear the room.
The next door opened to an empty cavern.
The team looked at each other and cautiously moved inside.
Tarra moved to one side of the room and made her way along
the wall.
Chandral, Tashan, Lili and then Willie emulated Tarra's
movements.
Something scurried across the floor! Quickly followed by
several more somethings!
Tarra hit one of the somethings with a fire-ball while
Chandral hit another with a lightning bolt.
The small beasts looked like a scorpion, without the
pincers. The pseudo scorpion hit with fire jumped up and kept running toward
the team. The one hit with the lightning lay on its back with its legs
twitching. It didn't move again.
Tashan, Chandral and Tarra threw all the electricity they
could at the beasts.
"WILLIE!!" Lili screamed at the Brownie. The rest
of the team circled the Mystic as Lili explained her squeal. "One of those
things crawled up his body and disappeared into his ear!"
Willie suddenly stopped thumping his ear and stood ramrod
straight. His vacant eyes turned to the Guardians and he drew his sword.
The women took several steps back, with their own weapons in
defensive modes. Chandral's mind raced with option after option for saving her
friend. "The beasts didn't like the lightning! We need to hit Willie with
burst that won't kill him but will make the thing in his head run."
"I'll disarm him, you lot cocoon him." Tarra
whispered to her family. Tarra instantly went on the offensive, smashing her
sword into Willie's and pushing him toward the wall. She parried, thrust,
flipped the tip of the sword and sent Willie's weapon scattering across the
floor.
Chandral and Lili wrapped the web from their bracers around
the Brownie's body, securing his arms to his sides and his feet together.
Tashan put her hand on top of Willie's head and small bolts
of electricity arced around his head. Nothing happened so she put her pointer
finger into her mouth, drooled generously over it, pushed her finger into his
ear and sent a small pulse of energy into his skull.
Willie's body jerked and the women quickly jumped backward
as the invader exited from his orifice and ran down his body.
As the scorpion wannabe hit the floor it was hit by three huge
bolts of electricity.
Tarra, Chandral and Tashan looked at each other and nodded
as they turned their attention to where Lili was gently talking to Willie.
The Brownie was non responsive.
Chandral moved to stand behind Lili and gently wrapped an
arm around the blonde as she tried to get a response from the Brownie. Chandral
put her hand on Willie's cheek and closed her eyes. She quickly found the
problem. As the beast had exited his brain, it severed the tissue and nerves. Chandral
raised her mini staff and used it to focus her healing ability on his damaged
brain.
Minutes later, Willie blinked and groggily looked around.
"Why do I suddenly want to clean my ears?"
Lili choked out a laugh as she put both hands on his cheeks
and pulled him in for a sisterly kiss. "You had a bug in your brain but
Tashan shocked it out for you." Lili and Chandral uncoiled the webs and
helped the Brownie support himself against the wall.
"Oh! Well that explains the need to say 'YUCK'!!" Willie
dry heaved.
Tarra and Tashan
walked closer and patted his shoulder. Tarra smiled at him and said "Stay
here, we'll be back in a moment."
Chandral stayed with Willie as the rest of the team moved to
the door and opened it.
The three Guardians looked into the room and stared at the
large birds inside. They were a mix of golden and red feathers and their tails were several feet
long. The birds looked like the ones imprinted on the armoured suits of the
Guardians.
"Wow!"
Lili sighed. "Eight Phoenixes!"
The
majestic creatures squawked and walked to stand in front of the women.
The
Guardians moved out of the way and let the birds move into the next room.
The
Phoenixes bobbed their heads at the women then flew out of the dungeon.
The
Queens enquired if Willie was right to move then kept a very close eye on him as they slowly followed
the birds to the exit.
The
Mother appeared, greeted each bird in turn then profusely thanked the team. She
took Willie's head
in her hands and kissed his forehead. "You'll be as good as new after you
have something to eat. Keep your strength up and be more careful!" She patted
his shoulder then disappeared.
Willie laughed as the Guardians each handed him a variety of food. He took all the
offerings and proceeded to eat the lot!
Lili
destroyed the dungeon then took Willie's arm. "You're coming home with us until Chuckie
and Robbie are back to keep an eye on you."
Willie didn't try to argue with her, his mouth was too full.
The
team disappeared.
